Atlantic University Rowing Championships (Oct 5-6, 2013)

The seventh annual Atlantic University Rowing Championships were held for the first time in Lochaber, Nova Scotia (hosted by the Antigonish Rowing Club), on a 2 km racing course. Both Varsity and Novice crews from Dalhousie University, Saint Francis Xavier University, University of New Brunswick, Saint Thomas University, and Mount Saint Vincent University competed over two days to try and win the University Championship banner and the first annual Lochaber Cup.

27 DAL Varsity athletes and 1 DAL Novice  travelled to Lochaber, NS, to compete against their local competitors in all types of rowing shells and won 12 of 17 events: UW1X, UM2-, UW2-, UW2X, ULM2X, UM4-, UW4-, UM4X, UW4X, ULM4+, UW4+, UW8+

By accumulating 155 points (versus Saint Francis Xavier’s 124 points), Dalhousie University was declared the 7th annual Atlantic University Rowing Champions and received the first ever Lochaber Cup!

Our team is proud of its accomplishments in showing itself as a force to be reckoned with amongst the Atlantic provinces. We are continuing to train hard, with the goal of sending competitive crews to the Canadian University Rowing Championships in Montreal, QC, on November 2-3.
